Medi-Market supports Pink Ribbon!

During the month of October, Medi-Market partners with Pink Ribbon to support the fight against breast cancer!

All donations are fully given to the Pink Ribbon nonprofit organization to reduce the number of breast cancer cases and their consequences, by encouraging prevention and screening on one hand, and by improving the quality of life for those affected by the disease and their loved ones, both during and after treatment.

The origin of Pink Ribbon…

Nearly 30 years ago, in 1992, at a time when thousands of women were dying from breast cancer but the subject was barely discussed, Evelyn Lauder, stepdaughter of Estée Lauder, launched the first “Breast Cancer Awareness” campaign.

Convinced of the importance of communication in the fight against the disease, she tirelessly supported Pink Ribbon campaigns to raise public awareness, draw attention to breast cancer, and raise funds for fundamental scientific research on the disease. Sadly, Evelyn Lauder passed away in November 2011, but her initiative lives on thanks to the pink ribbon.

Pink Ribbon has three main objectives:

  • To increase visibility and knowledge about breast cancer.
  • To encourage dialogue, reduce feelings of anxiety and loneliness, and break taboos by promoting certain behaviors and attitudes.
  • To support concrete projects aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of women and men affected by breast cancer and their close relatives.
